2 questions.
1) What's the shallowest water you've caught fish in, in February
For me, I've caught them in some back waters in about 8-10 FOW and the fish were right on the bottom.
2) What's the shallowest you've caught fish in, in deep water
Welfare hole a couple years back no one was catching fish and should have been so I shallowed up to about 5 foot and wore them out. Think I was in 22-24 FOW

I have done that in the welfare 4' 6-25 depth . Caught them in the channel in the shad about 2-4 foot in deep water , caught them in the rocks on the dam a time or two up close . Them black ones like to hide in them rocks .
In feb....I catch the pretty regular on top of ledges 8-9'FOW right on the bottom early in the morning, then as the sun comes up and the wind picks up they usually ease down to the deeper side of the ledge
Far as water depths an fish depths. They may be anywhere. I've caught them anywhere from 2' deep in 20+ FOW to bouncing jig on the bottom in 20+FOW.
