help setting up hds 7 gen 2

Think there is an auto detect routine too. Will have to find in the manual though.

Thanks got that did... When I got chart on and try to zoom on lakes it will try to make a waypoint every time I zoom... Can you turn that off and on? Bought it used n don't have manual

Welp after reading manual and calling lowrance... they said something is wrong with my hds7 evertime i try to zoom in on my chart it trys to mark way point(any of yall ever had this problem).... but to warranty it have to have proof of purchase... maybe tha guy i bought from will have that waiting on him to call back... good news is lowrance told me i could upgrade to a hds8 for $200 or hds7 touch for $300 or hds9 touch for $650... sounds to good to be true(i called back and ask him again and he told me that same thing)???

GET the 9 iffin you can afford it. If not the 8

if you upgrade to the touch for that $$, JUMP on it, changing screens is soooo easy compared to G1/2 versions. No opinion on performance of the touch, but I played with a touch version at BPS, and it is very easy to change/adjust screens compared to my G1 HDS 8
