Never used one. Trolling plate was in the boat, holes on the motor are already in place so it has my wheels turning. I have seen several say the same about the trolling plate. Sort of why I was thinking a 4-blade prop would give me more low speed turning ability. Luckily I seldom see trotlines where I troll but the ability to turn is still appreciated.

Plans are to keep it a tiller for the time being. I like the open area and taller sides to keep the young ones corralled in front of me. If I didn't plan to bring the kids with me, the stick steer would be a great way to troll.
