They're crappie! Doesn't matter if ya tie a granny knot, fish ain't gonna break it! I have always just used a simple fishermans or clinch knot.

But what about if you are trolling those $5.00 cranks? Do some loopknots give your jigs more action without the weight of a swivel, or when you're tying your spyder rigs with 3-way swivels and droppers and sometime you gat a large catfish or bass or stripe on there and you need a good knot.I've always used a improved clinch or palomar knot. Seemed to work ok!

Not exactly, some excellent mono knots can slip very easily when tied with braid. Braid I use a clinch. Else i use a simple figure 8.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.

D own side to using 30lb. braid is if you hang up i would lose a $5 lure rather than break a $50 pole. I go along with feelay they are crappie been using a double clinch knot for a long time no probs.

Learned to tie a improved clinch knot over 40 years ago and still use it today. simple to tie under all kinds of conditions and all sizes of line. Mono or Braid. have tried all those other fancy knots and yes they work in the lab but i have lost more spinner baits and jigs with the palomar than i ever did with clinch. Like Feelay said they crappie, right size line, reel with drag set. for cranks i use a crosslock snap for movement and convenince no swivel. To me its sit down and tie a bunch of different knots and find one that works for you thats simple for you to tie in the boat on a cold day when your fingers dont want to work.

I think on Braid they recommend a Polamar Knot.

Loop knot. It keeps the jig horizontal in the water. No more knot adjusting!
I have one small problem with the knot though.
Rarely on the hook set.....the line (braid) will slip through the tiny gap on the line tie. Fish and jig are gone forever.
However, I will trade loosing a few of each for the trade off of no knot adjustment. Thats a pain in the arss.
