Scott, Duckhunter had a whole compliment of the Cabelas he bought last year and only about 1/2 of them held up through the first year. Think he decided to sell 'em all and go with Okumas.

I have some Daiwa sealine reels I bought 20 years ago and they work like they did when they were new. I bought some of their accudepth line counters and they work great. Some times cheap means just that. For a little more money and no problems I'm happy and fishing.

Never had a problem with my Okumas........be sure the bait clicker is turned off though or the spool will not free spool right. Can't beat them $24.95 at Notrhwoods Okuma Magda Pro Line Counter MA-15DX Northwoods Wholesale Outlet

If there is any tension on the line the Okuma's will not free spool. When putting out cranks make sure the bait is out of the water before you release the spool. Problem solved.

Well.....mine free spool better with the crankbait in the water the movement of the boat and the resistance of the bait pulls the line out better.

Default I found that if you have the clicker buttom

in the ON position, they won;t let back. I keep mine off and have no problem

$20,000 dollar boats, $2,000 trolling motors, $1,500 sonars. Fishermen bargain shopping the one thing that is actually connected to a fish. Funny.
    We killed 'em here yesterday.
