I have been in the same situation with no help. Glad someone was there. It's not a good feeling. I like to put in at engineers point to avoid the wind and waves while loading and unloading especially when I am by myself.
+1 on Engineers Pt, you can get out of the wind to launch on some of the really bad days in that little cove there. Sorry your trip got blown!
I didn't do much at the rez... caught two keepers and one throw back. Wind got bad around nine thirty and kept me from trying new spots.
Doubleg
Dang man! Hate to hear that. Wind out of the North my a$$!!! Was coming out of the SouthEast. Dad and I were at Beach Point well before daylight and we could hear the waves cracking the rocks. We sat there and waited for daylight to make a decision and decided against it. We went all the way around to Pat's Bluff (near Clear Creek) to get out of the wind. It worked, but still turned out to be a complete waist of time. Fish everywhere on the FF, but nobody was doing anything. It was weird. I caught 7 fish in about 10 minutes and all the other boats were looking at me for answers, but that was IT! Only one was a keeper.
So recap, fished 3.5 hours, caught fish 10 minutes. Not good. And..... The weatherman can kiss it
Dang Bandit. Hope nothing got damaged and glad you made it out.
Wannabe...
