Speed should have no affect on the depth. Line diameter, on the other hand....................

You want your speed to stay between 1.5-2.0.

Correct but it will effect the action of the bait. too slow and it has no action to speek of and too fast and unless it is tuned perfect it will un off to one side or another.

Ok next question. Just bought bout 120 bandits from a guy. Bout 60 300s of various colors. 24 100s and 36 200s. Don't really think I need the 100s and not sure bout the 200s. Y'all use the 200s much at all? I realize this madness is just beginning. But thought I might put the 100s and 200s up for sale. What y'all say?

I would keep them all, there will be times when you will want to run shallow, fish may be deeper on one end of the lake and shallow on the other. But if you decide to sell I would be interested.

Can someone tell me the difference between an Okuma Magda 15D and a DX?

the dx is just a little nicer reel for 2 bucks more. go to northwoods wholesale cheapest place to buy them. I just got 4 of them, alot of guys say buy the 20's but im happy with the 15's hold less line that you dont need. the main difference in them is the 20 has a thumb rest on top of the reel. I dont see it as anything major. I also think the dx has a better drag system.

why is everyone so hot on the 20 dx. only difference in the reel is its bigger and heavier and has a thumb bar on top that you never use. the 15 takes less line and is made the same, but most say to get the 20

I would ask the same question cl. I think the 15 's hold 330 yds of 10 lb. I will use 230 of filler then 100+ of good line.
