Carppie Jig=walleyes
I was up on Red Lake fishing walleyes last week. The fish were in 5 to 7 FOW.
Most of my walleye jig are 1/8 to 1/2 once and way to heavy for shallow water fishing. As luck would have it I had some of my 1/16 once hair crappie jig along. A 1/16 once bleeding minnow pattern crappie jig tipped with a fat head minnow did the trick.
The bite was fast and we had a limit of under slot fish in 1/2 hour. In a period of three hours we boated well over forty fish that we C & R.
Looking forward to another trip this week.
