If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Not sure. Don't count. A fair amount. 90% were CPR(catch photo release) as were all fish caught throughout the summer months. Fishing has slowed with the weather changing pretty dramatically and the weeds dying off. I'll try for them again first ice . It's Walleye weather now. If people don't start consciously using selective harvest there wont be many big slabs left. This area get's pounded year round.
CPR AMEN!
We have every bit as bad a pounding down here in the deep Metro waters, if not worse. Any published report of a good bite around here can draw crowds of fishermen within hours. IMO far too much harvest has already made true Metro slabs too rare for most to find. We are seeing a bit of a recovery in some of the lakes with consumption advisories, though. There is a definite difference in size between waters with and those without the advisories. IMO they should be posted far more prominently.
