Some of our Minnesota based websites are starting to show pictures of ice on lakes now and the forecast has begun to talk dirty already.....the dirty being minus 0 temps....for later in the week. We've been plagued with ice covered roads in a few densely populated ares too, primarily in the Minneapolis/St.Paul areas into central Minnesota. Here in the SE corner we are right at the freezing mark with light drizzle, but we are not seeing any ice. Yet. They forecast the cold air to get down here tomorrow sometime and honestly, I can wait.

I was out and about yesterday a little between football games and again this morning and I did not see any of the local reservoirs with shale so we can still fish the long rods....but boy is it wet once you get out of the truck or car.

I guess that mid- November is as good of a time to get this ice fishing stuff started, so bring it on. I'll hang onto the open water until the last hole glasses over and then relent.

And so while I am at this post, I will wish all of you who read this a Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy the day in earnest and be safe in all you do.
