Default Help with Tims Ford prefishing

I would think that you would have to find crappie cover to find crappie on Tims.I have fished Tims alot over the years for smallmouth bass and oh my goodness, you have never had any summer fun till you catch some of the Rockbass and have an awsome fight with those at night especially.I would like to have somebody tell us some Tims hints for the upcoming crappie tourney. An idea of what to do to find crappie there.I have only caught 1 crappie there, but only fished it twice for crappie though.I will be glad to swap some excellent rock bass fishing tips, or even a trip for them with guaranteed success for some crappie holes.Attached are some Tims ford stripers caught this past summer.

gcf now would be a good time to ride around Tims and see where the structure is before the water gets up too high.As far as crappie holes I really dont have any on Tims but will be doing alot of looking in the next month.By the way the stripe were in the jumps at the bass club flat Sunday evening.

gcp, The best advise I can give you is BOAT DOCKS, BOAT DOCKS OR BOAT DOCKS. SHADE, SHADE OR SHADE. JIGS, JIGS OR JIGS.

Docks, docks, docks and more docks. Then there is the Boo I have in there. Be happy to show you some honey holes. Off this weekend, work monday and tuesday, then off for sixteen. Doesn't bother me a bit to show ya a few spots. Got a GPS, bring it, got a lake map, bring it also. I can't fish all the places at once. Fishawk knows some of my places cause he was with me when I sank the boo, but docks are the key are Tims.

I crappie fish a little different that I think most people do, probably more like bass fishing. If I haven't fished in the area in a while I will start shallow and be watching graph. If I see them deeper I will change presentation and move to the fish.My best days were fish and move and move somemore.I dont have the patience to set and wait on fish.Thats why I carry so many different fishing poles. If crappie dont bite I will bass fish and if they dont bite I will start dragging shrimp for cats.I just like to fish and eat fish.Darn I hijacked this thread I really dont know any secret spots on Tims. But if I find some before tournament I will tell you.
