Thumbs up Jan 28th 2011 LOC BF Tourney Results

Our Jan 21st tourney was rained/stormed out so we rescheduled it for yesterday, Jan 28th. It was a cool start about 39 degrees with calm conditions but as it got up toward 9 am, the winds went to about a steady 15 plus and never let up. One boat in the tourney had signed up for Tims Ford for the 21st tourney and stayed there for this contest, while two more boats changed lakes and went to Tims as well. Tims being a larger and deeper lake apparently was able to withstand more inrush of muddy water without changing to chocolate milk. banghead All three places saturday came from the three boats that chose to fish Tims Ford. Woods Reservoir was chocolate milk and ran through a blender as the winds was torture and no place to get out of it as reported by the two boats that chose it. I heard Normandy had tough conditions and muddy water as well reported by the one boat that chose it. Way to go to the three boats that placed yesterday.:Hands Clapping One good thing it was January and every boat still caught some crappie. We had 6 boats fish. Here are the results.
J.W Jackson and Joey Davis brought a 1.44 pound crappie that tied with Randy Anderson who fished alone and also brought a 1.44 pound fish. They will both receive second place points. The boat of the day was the team of Jason Farris and David Amonette aka The Shootist, as they proved to be way too tough for the rest of the competition as they brought a very nice mess of fish to the weigh in. They brought in 20 keepers with all fish being very nice fish. They had one fish that was the cat daddy of the stringer and it came in at 2.32 pounds. They had another that went 2.04. We weighed their best 7 fish and they came in at around 11 1/2 pounds. I cant remember exactly the weight but it was a nice 7 fish stringer for sure. Congrats to those guys. Our next tourney is 3 weeks away on February 18th. It's a regular 7 fish stringer tourney. Its also a LOC event. Our meeting next month is Feb 16th.

Most of the credit for this tournament goes to Jason....We both had planned on fishing Normandy but I had a prior commitment that I had to attend Saturday morning so we chose to fish Tims since it was the closest to the event. Jason launched his boat at safe light and went looking for fishand had 5 keepers when I got in the boat at 10 am.We went to the places that he had caught fish earlier in the morning and the fish were still there. We found fish in deep and not so deep water. As mentioned above the wind was horrible and changed direction constantly . Sure was nice to be in the back of the boat saying why dont you get us closer or I cant reach that treetop from here while casting over you head jason....
