Thumbs up MTCC Tims Ford Tournament Results Aug 20th

Our Tims Ford tourney is over and in the books. We officially ended up with 8 boats for this event. A big welcome and thank you goes out to the guys who came over from the Chattanooga and Cleveland areas of Tn to spend a day fishing with us. We all really enjoyed getting to know those guys, and want to invite them back anytime they want to come fish with us. Results saturday was a little better than typical for this lake, as all 8 boats brought fish to the weigh-in. The results are as follows. J.W. and Deanie took 3rd place saturday with 5.11 pounds and big fish too with a 1.36 pound crappie. 2nd Place saturday went to David A. and Dawn with 5.22 pounds. And finally first place saturday went to Randy C. aka C1bigocarp with 10 fish @ 7.81 pounds. Wtg Randy, and congrats on winning the tourney saturday.Hands Clapping

It's still unofficial, but I think we have two guys tied for the AOTY race now, as we come to the last 3 events for 2011. If anything like we have seen in the past, these last 3 fall fishing outtings will bring in some really nice fish, and nice stringers.

PS. If you missed the last meeting, and have not heard yet, the September meeting place has been moved to Tims Ford State Park. This will be our fish fry we have talked about for years having. I will be sending out emails soon with details.

I really enjoyed the day even though I was a late entry. I know now why I went to that lake in January to drive around when it was 35 degrees outside! I was driving up towards Rock Creek and saw this blue circle on my GPS and said "what did I see there?" I found 16 keepers under that circle and will hit it again in the future. I did have to outsmart the stripe at this location by casting way past them and letting it fall to the bottom and bring it to the Crappie that were under the stripe. I will be looking for other areas like that this winter in hopes of repeating the success. the fish were caught on Assasins with 16th head. Glad to the see the boys from the Chick show up and look forward to fishing with them in the future.

Congrats to Randy and the other winners on tims saturday. Glad that Jim and Dave from the Chattanooga area got to come over and fish with us. It was good to
see everyone bring in fish for the weigh in. Want to thank Tracy for letting me tag along and having a little fun and fellowship.

C1, when I first moved over to TN and started fishing Tims, I would go down to the bass club there and just watch people and watch the boats come in and very few people if any would have fish. I did this for a little while and all the while I was fishing the dock there and under the bridge and I was putting a hurt on the crappie. All I used was assassins. You could find them everywhere around there until people started catching on and watching me. I was glad to see so many people start having some success there. You could hardly find any assassins for a while after that. My last year there was a struggle in that location to bring in fish. I am not sure if so many people learned the technique and the bait that they kept them caught out of that small area or what. However, I think the assassin company owes me a bonus for all the business I put on them. Congrads on the tourney.
