Default Woods Res saturday July 10th 2010

Went early this morning and fished with Bos. We caught some of the biggest stripe I ever caught on Woods.Caught several between 1 and 2 pounders and many more than ever that was closer to that 2 lb size. Maybe it was because it was before daylight under our night lights that was out.We had to contend with the stripers in the 4 different locations we attempted to fish today. We also caught several crappie, but only 8 keepers that we threw back in before we left. The keeper crappie bite was not great today. Lake traffic was very light this morning though. Summer has arrived I guess.
Tracy took a picture of this one pretty decent fish, but up against me it dont even look like a keeper.

Today was the first day for some time that I haven't had to "weed" through the white bass to get to the crappie. 15 keeper crappie and only one white bass! Still 10 to 14 feet deep.

That sure is a small fish to be taking a picture of? Bigger than the one I caught. I stayed around the house and am taking my boat back to the shop today because the lower unit that was inspected earlier in the year is leaking badly. It is leaving its mark on my driveway like my Harley used to. Back to Gilliams it is for repair. Glad you got out and had a great time.

GCF, Isn't that the point that FH fishes all the time? I am certain that it is and I appreciate the tip. I am a little confused because I do not see a marker in the water and I would not know exactly where to go with out it. Please leave it in the water for me on your next photo. Your help is always appreciated!

Sounds like a good trip to me GCF! Heckuva lot better than a skunk!... I hate skunks!!!

I keep a mess of Stripe every once in a while, I clean them and take the latteral line (blood line) out and tell O'l Yeller (my wife.. not my dog) that they're Catfish. She says "that Catfish is some good stuff!":D... I can't tell her they're Crappie anymore because she says " that batch of Crappie wasn't as good as the last batch".
