Pat Day and I headed up to Saginaw River to finally do some ice fishing for Walleye. We left his house about 4:30 am and the temp was -9.
Meeting up with some friends near the Zilwaukee bridge, we headed out on 7” of good clear ice. Drilled holes and set up for the day.
We were using Rapala jiggin rap #7 tipped with a minnow in 26 feet of water.
It didn’t take long and Pat had one on, then another and so it went. He did let a few swim over to my hole and I also was catching walleye. The other guys in the party had similar success......lots of walleye being caught, problem was they were mostly under size. A lot were close so next year there should be a good crop. We all did catch a few keepers, and had a lot of fun.

I have no pictures just a upcoming video.....minus some swear words Walleye on the River
