Well like everybody, I've been waiting for the weather to break and warm up. The talk about the last time we caught a crappie has been the topic of conversation for months, weeks , days. So to see the forecast for this past weekend was like a kid on Christmas morning!!!!!!!! The first question was where do we go, will the water temps be high enough for fish to be active, so many lakes to chose from. I call uncle AL and ask the question.......... I get a pause...... I get a response..... " lets go down the way" I knew exactly what that meant and where.
So we loaded up the boat , gear, snacks and bait and off we went. The lake was in great shape with a lite breeze, we took off to one of our favorite spots, did a quick ride by checking with the electronics and the screen lit up with little white dots, to our surprise , nothing would take our presentation. Off to spot 2, the fish are stacked up on top of one another under the shallow docks. We slowly picked away at the pack, as the day went on and the air temp went up the fish became more active. We ended the day keeping 35 between 3 of us, size ranged from 9 - 12" with a bonus 14 3/4" slab.
these are the fish I brought home
