After you do five or six of them you pretty much have it down to a science. Of course, once you do five or six of them, everyone and their brother wants your help.
Fortunately, I've been in enough boats with good (and bad) setups to know what I want and what I am looking for. Aluminum isn't so bad if you want to move something. Especially with carpet. you really can't see the holes. If you don't have carpet, you can purchase new vinyl or carpet the area. Fiberglass on the other hand!
Boat setups are different depending on the species. For Salmon, I setup a boat totally different then I setup for walleye. My Salmon setup could run 16 to 20 rods without moving one to fight a fish! I have a few additions to make to my walleye setup but it is only to improve the current design and not really move anything.

I can agree with that, I like my set up. I can go Crappie one day, Walleye the next & Salmon the next.
I'm not running charters or anything, and I usually never have more then 2 people. So setting up 6 rods is not more complicated that a simple Pollack can handle/figure out.
I would say that each boat is different, only on where you want things based on Captain preference though, but I think it boils down to user comfort, and ease of process.
Such as a Clean side of the boat, or an open transom, etc.
I just found out I am sitting on, 17 Days of Vacation, so I'm pretty sure I can go if we have a Fall Polish Style Tournament........
Striker Ice Predator suit is already out, and ready.

Nice! So, if we do it mid week, the self employed can get "boss" permission, the retired can get out of bed early, and us working class can do what we always do:

I can always tell them I need to track a deer. They would believe that as well......
Would need to know a day or two in advance, I can toss in some sneeze, and fake coughs.......
Amazing how much like grunts and wheezes from hunting deter those who hunt at Meijer's
