So it seems like there was a bit of confusion surrounding the Fall Gathering, or to be more specific, around the communication. Apparently some folks were not present during the conversation at the Spring Camp. The outcome of that conversation, in a nutshell, was that due to the historically smaller attendance, we would refer to them as a "gathering" and not put forth the effort that we do at the spring camps.

That being said, it doesn't mean that they are any less important, just that with limited time and resources it might make more sense to focus on the spring events with regard to money spent from the treasury and prizes. The fall events would be low key and less formal. This approach seemed to meet with the approval of everyone that was in attendance.

Going forward it appears we need to make sure that whomever is going to facilitate an event communicates ALL information concerning the event in the form of an "official" post(s). If those who are facilitating an event need help with that, there are many members who will be willing and able to do so.

I am glad that despite miscommunication with this last event all went well and it seems like those who attended not only caught fish (yeah!), but also had a good time.

Michigan Man and his brother (?) are facilitating the 2018 MICDC Spring Camp and have banners, funds, some prizes and support for the cause. They will be posting developments as location and dates are determined.

If I have omitted anything, please feel free to post it up. Thanks.
