Need a little help, please

Ok, I'm not real computer savvy. I can handle the basics but get lost when it comes to most other things. CDC, ebay, craigslist, Cabelas and the daily cross word are about the extent of my web life. With that said, there is a contest where you post a fishing report on the state forum with a link to the contests forum. The problem is I don't know how to do this. Can anyone walk me through it in laymans terms? Once I get this figured out I'll work on how to program the VCR. Thanks a ton
