    Default Gills on ice-report-12-23-2016

First ice fishing trip of the season for me. Didn't kill them but got enough for a meal.

    Silvers Lake near Springport
    5-6 foot of water
    5.5 inches of ice
caught on small yellow jig and wax worms.

I bought a new Marcum Lx-7 last year and never got to use it, so this was a learning curve trip for me. Absolutely love the new electronics!

    Also.......Merry Christmas to everyone!

Way to go Steve. I thought about going out today but the ice reports around Ionia County scare me. Was the ice you were on consistant or were there bad spots? Many other fishermen? My kids are home for the holidays and I'm starting a siding job next week so I probably won't get out till the 2nd week of the new year. Keep the reports and pictures coming.

Jerry there were probably 20 other people. Probably drilled 15-20 holes in a 30 yard diameter and all were consistently 5-5.5 inches.
