Default Kent lake and Wolverine lake report.

Well then, Saturday was off to a great start. Up at 6 am and meeting up with a friend at the east boat launch, cooler full of bait and drinks we arrived and launched at 8 am. First couple hours was nice, trolling and casting catching a few bass, then the storms rolled in and every boat hit the high gear and ran to a bridge on the lake to wait it out. Two whole hours of heavy rain. 6 boats hanging out under that bridge including us so we fished. Caught a few bass and some small gills.
When it let up a little we decided to pull out the tadpoles and crawler harnesses and search for walleyes. Got us a few nice pumpkin seeds but wally eluded us. Packed up the boat and went for lunch. Discovered what a chop steak was too.
But a great suggestion came up. Let's give Wolverine lake a try. After getting a little lost we put in around 4. Didn't even go far from the launch, after a little advice from a fellow smokercraft owner we trolled the drop off for pike and brought in several nice bass so we switched tackle and began something we haven't done in a long time. Bass fishing. Spent the rest of the evening catching bass, pike and bluegill. A little more rain rolled in, we were having so much fun we just stayed out getting soaked. What a day for memories and fish. We plan on coming back to kent and wolverine again with some different tactics knowing what the fishing is like.

Always fun to "just go fishing". Not really having a plan in mind or a target species to go after. Reminds me of fishing as a kid.

My thoughts exactly. As we had no idea for what to expect, we went for whatever was biting. No pics I'm afraid. Too wet for that. An adventure to say the least.

Going fishing is what we do, catching fish is a bonus. All the other things that go along with it is why we continue to be anglers. Sounds like a good time.
It is not about the equipment you have to use,
It is about how you use the equipment you have. :D
