I had a relative who owned the welcome woods campground on that lake, I never got over there to fish it. Do you think that small fish is the norm on that lake now?

had a couple of hours last night so I headed over to middle lake.
I have not fished middle lake for many years, used to get a few good crappie once in awhile.
water was 57 , and very dirty/slimy , quite windy also.
tried a few bays and one channel, caught about a dozen smaller gills and one small crappie, got tired of fighting the slime.....headed home.
was good to get back on the water though.
gills on wax worms and crappie grabbed a minnow.all under a bobber, did not have time to try trolling.

sure hope not, it is only 6-7 miles from my house now....
I will give it a couple of weeks, then try again.

Middle has some good fish in it. Never targeted specks but know a fella that does good on them longline trolling just off the dropoff. We do catch some nice gills both soft water and through the ice and have taken some decent perch, too. It can be tough but when it's good it's real good.
