late hardy report

fished hardy pond this weekend with our crappie dot com group, had a great time and caught lots of nice eating size crappie.
had the honor of fishing with the LEGENDARY bilbob on Friday, despite him always calling us "GUBERS" , he was a pleasure to fish with.
I did have a hard time getting him to understand that we were fishing for crappie, NOT smallmouth bass. well he showed me how to catch BIG smallmouth!!!!! 21 inches and 4 1/2 lbs on a shine hinee jig.
we found crappie in most of the laydown trees along shore , with trees that had tops extending into 10ft or deeper water being best for us.
used just the standard slip bobber rig with minnows , 3 - 5 ft down.
water temp was around 65, did best when the water was slightly muddy.
had several run -ins with the local pike......lost several hooks , they won....
good food, good friends and a great time....
