Default The crappie of a lifetime

This good friend of mine is the most dedicated and successful crappie fishermen I have ever known. He recently caught his new personal best black crappie...18".

That's an impressive fish for sure. Do you know what it weighed?

I think it weighed 2 lbs 8 oz. He said a crappie that long from Mississippi or Arkansas would have been over 3 lbs. Southern slabs must have some huge shoulders.

I hereby announce that your friend is now a "KING" among us crappie fishermen.

All who fish in his presence must now buy the coffee and minnows while bragging about the size of this fish to all within earshot!

    Fantastic fish sir!

Yup, that's kinda why I asked. Ed and I pulled the four I have in my avatar from Lake Dardanelle in AR a few years back and they all were over 2# and 17" or so. None were 18", so your right about it making 3# or better down there.

    P.S...and he's a member I'm thinking????
