Haven't been on here much in a couple months, haven't been out fishing since probably July. Son had a Wedding,a trip to Vegas, work commitments, a trip to the UP, and waterfowl hunting every weekend, grandson Aiden (9) shot his first Canadian goose.
Fell 13 foot off a barn roof I was building a week ago last Monday, nothing broke just sore as heck for a couple days. Pride hurt as much as anything.
With December now here, beginning to think ice fishing will be here soon.....bought a new Marcum fishfinder last season which didn't get used.....never went out, not enough ice for me to feel comfortable on.
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
I guess I better start reading the goings on here since I've been absent lately......
Sounds like you've been a busy man. Glad your fall didn't turn out to be serious. Hopefully we can hook up this winter and try to catch a few fish.
Now that my parents are close by, I'm sure we will venture out quit a bit this winter. Shaping up to have ice really soon.
Hopefully some good ice. Think my vexilar needs a new battery this season, it sat on the shelf to long last year. It's about 4yrs old
Took a drive up to Six Lakes today to check on my cottage and noticed that the small lakes were starting to skim over. Hopefully the heavy snow holds off until we get safe ice. I will be charging the vex and camera batteries this weekend and start getting the portable and rods ready to go soon. Never made it out last year. With any luck this year will be better.
To all that are looking forward to ice:yikeshope you fish well..and do be SAFE...as for Dee and I.....we leave in the morning for AZ and SoCal....no ice thankfully...Merry Christmas!!!!
Have a great trip. I used to visit my parents in Arizone City every winter and loved traveling up to the Sedona/Jerome/Cottonwood area and over to Bullhead City and Lake Havasu. Been about 10 years since I've been out, I'm sure things have changed.
My brother spends his winters out in Needles California, warm, no snow, he goes fishing and pig hunting while hes there......sounds like a nice place to get out of the snow and cold.
My wife has 5 years yet to retirement at 62, then I can slow down. We hope to spend a few months each winter down south.
A little trivia for you Steve, Needles is where Snoopys brother in the Peanuts comic strip lived. I can remember that but sometimes forget why I drove into town. Go figure.
