    Default Houghton Lake fishing report.

I know it's a little early for this, but I will try to post the fishing report from H.L. up untill the get together.

Houghton Lake: Is producing walleye, bass, pike, bluegills, crappie and sunfish. For walleye, target eight to 10 feet along the edge of the weed beds with leeches. Smallmouth bass were hitting on leeches and crawlers.

Had a pretty good video of a family drift fishing Houghton on Michigan Out Of Doors last night. Pike and eyes were the fare.

Man, it's rough trying to find an updated Houghton Lake fishing report out there! I guess you can call Lyman's on the Lake anytime. Found this one from last week ... mentions bluegills-walleye-bass, but no crappie ... guess that'll be up to MICDC, . Looked up that Michigan Outdoors episode ... pretty interesting & I sure do like drifting, .

Michigan Fishing Report - MI Outdoor News

    Houghton Lake Area

Walleye fishing has been decent on Houghton Lake. Anglers trolling and drifting leeches and nightcrawlers report catching good numbers of fish. Bass fishing also has been good, with crankbaits and soft plastics producing good results when fished along the weeds. The bluegill bite remains good in 9 to 10 feet of water, with wax worms, leeches, and crickets all producing good results. Early goose season should be a dandy. Lyman’s on the Lake, (989) 422-3231.

... for those about to fish, we salute you.
