I'm thinking of perch myself
Dang gulls.
Attachment 178270Son & I fished Grand Lake and caught some nice Perch. This is the biggest. It's 14" and was 1lb. 2oz.
Nice perch. I can't seem to find them yet. Nice job Larry
That's a nice Smallie!!
Caught this monster in the creek behind my house.
Did ya hang him on the wall? He's a trophy for sure!
Grandson with his first fish that he hooked, and landed all by himself. Jordan Lake.
Circa 1980, brook trout fishing near Munising. I'm on the right (don't you just love the hair style then), my brother on the left.
I think we need to start a new thread!
We could call it: "When we had hair"... or.... "When we used to be able to get around"
That one brookie is nice. Hard pressed to find em like that anymore!
Not a big panfisherman, usually fish walleye and perch since I live near Saginaw bay in Bay City. Finally got a chance to meet up with someone up north to get after some big crappie. Boy was he right. Great time and great fish. Got 22 fish for 2 of us, and 10 of them 13" and 3-14". Biggest crappie I've caught. Great time on the ice. Those are 3 keeper walleye in the corner to give you som size.
Nice Job Snowfish. I'm gonna guess Houghton lake? Just taking a wild shot in the dark!
Great Snowfish. Gotta love those kinda days. Weren't you at Cadillac with what's-his-face for our Crappie Camp? You had some dandy walleye to feed us if I recall correctly.
Really nice catch..
Nice mixed bag Ralph

Nice perch Larry. I would love to find a lake where perch fishing was good enough that a guy could count on catching enough for a fish fry. I was up to Hubbard Lake 2 weeks ago to do some scouting, and the word was that finding enough perch for a fish fry was like finding gold nuggets. Pretty sad when a lake like that (Add in Black L., Higgins L., L. Independence(UP) etc that have reputations for A FEW BIG perch.) and any perch fisherman is pretty much SOL. I'm glad bluegills and walleyes are easy to find and easy to catch. Apparently walleyes are so thick on Saginaw bay that they are reducing perch number BIG TIME. Years ago a guy could go over there, anchor in a pack of boats, and catch a bucketful of perch. The two big perch party boats are gone. Perch charters aren't worth the effort and the packs of perch boats are no more. How sad. :dono
Muskegon Lake has been good to me this year on perch. Both the white bellies and yellow bellies.
Grand Haven is also another good spot. What you are looking for on the Lake Michigan side is a couple of days of strong East winds. It tends to bring in some turbulent waters and the perch respond. Watch "Grand Haven Steelheaders" website and there will be posting when the perch come in.
Yes, the walleyes are heavy in the bay however you can get into some decent perch. My recommendation is to watch the electronics and mark the areas that you catch a nice perch. Go back to the spot and target it. I always say I want to catch perch but really didn't start getting into them until I targeted them hard. Once you do that, you know what you are looking for. Lake Erie will be dynamite in another month.
Couple nice Bandits
Those are some healthy pearch!
Nice ones Jimmy...
Awesome catch Jimmy, Hello folks, Haven't been on here in a while but I do read it every day. I had a catch this summer I would like to share. Had a good summer and got a new boat in the process of rigging it. Hope to get more active next spring. Fishing salt water right now. Have a good winter all. These were caught in the Coldwater, Mi area. Deep jigging in about 25 foot of water just a couple cranks off the bottem. I got 4 of these that day.Attachment 216818
