Here's a little video I think all of us Michiganders can enjoy. Wednesday evening, after having spent the last two days with their great grandma and grandpa, my grandsons were dropped off with me at work to come and spend the following couple days with my wife and I. It just so happens that there is a spot not too far off the road that I often find morel mushrooms early in the season, and with the weather being halfway decent, I though it might be a good time to take my wonderful grandsons on their first mushroom hunt of the season. Haylen will be 4 in a couple months and Gavin has recently turned 5, so I kept our big adventure to just about 15 or 20 minutes, but that short time made my whole week. The video is only about 4 minutes, but if you like kids, and the outdoors, it might just put a smile on your face. One thing you might find odd, is hearing the little guys say, "Ding Ding". That is something that started many, many years ago between my lifelong friends and hunting buddies and I, and was simply something that one of the guys said one time when he found a mushroom and we of all just knew to head his direction because there are often more than just one morel in an area. From that day on it became an unwritten agreement, something that is understood between us, and probably only us, that when you find a morel mushroom you say Ding Ding to let you hunting partners know that you found one. So here is the video and I hope you all enjoy it.
