    Default First crappie of 2014

I made my second trip of the new open water season today. The water I fish has been muddy and cold(49 degrees). I fished the back ends of a couple of shallow bays, figuring they would warm first. The first crappie I landed was this 15"er all decked out in pretty colors. I only caught 2 fish but when one of them was a MI Master Angler qualifier, I was happy as a bear in a dump.

Nice catch. I fished today and didn't catch jack.

Awesome. You have to figure that there is one in every lake. Our goal is to try and catch that one fish. If you catch him and nothing else, you got the job done!

At least that is what I keep telling myself. Great fish

Nice slab. I got out yesterday for the first time. Managed to get a couple. One dink and one decent. They were both deep water. Didn't get into the back bay that I usually check first as I didn't feel like battling the wind in my kayak any longer than the half hour or so that I was out. Should be into some good numbers, of good fish, real soon. Great job.
It is not about the equipment you have to use,
It is about how you use the equipment you have. :D
