Where's Waldo
OK, So I'm not Waldo. But, with my lack of posts lately it sure feels like it.
I started Ice fishing at the end of November. Crappies, Gills, you name it. One particular evening, I went to a lake I did pretty well at last winter (first time I fished it). This time I decided to try a newer area of the lake. I hit the hole dead middle on the first try and poked holes north and south. I was an hour or so early for the evening crappie bite so I decided to do a little test fishing to see which holes to start out over. On my third hole I managed to catch a 12 in perch. Hmmm, didn't know of any perch in this lake. For the next 30 minutes I caught one perch after another. I ended up with about a dozen really nice 10 inch or better perch before the bite stopped. It was a quick crappie bite that night but my mind was on the perch. I ended up going back the next day around noon and hammered the perch for about 4 hours straight. I know where I'm going again.
Last friday me and two of my buddies headed to Bay City. I fished independence bridge from 5pm to 8pm. We caught 40 Walleyes but only one keeper. The next morning we made the mistake of going up river. There was absolutely zero fish up stream so we went back to Bay City. Fished from 11 am until 5pm and caught about 100 including 3 keepers. Headed home before the storm hit.
Been plowing snow ever since. Manage to catch a very nice cough that I can't get rid of. My mind wants to fish, my body is telling me NOOOOOOO!
Guess I spend the weekend cleaning my Man room and working on a couple custom rods.
I have OCD "Obsessive Crappie Disorder"
