    Default Fishin with friends...

is a great way to spend some time. Fishing with a new aquiantance (and his boy) and makin new friends is even better. That's what the plan is for this afternoon. David Schneider, a member from southern Indiana is up camping with his family in town and we're going to go see if we can find some fish this afternoon. Even if the fishing isn't the best, we're gonna have some great conversation and enjoy being out on the water.

I would like to personally thank Yankee Doodler for showing me and my son a AWESOME time out on the water today. This fella exemplifies everything this sport should be about. He took me up on post that I had made a while back about crappie fishing with a local angler while vacationing in Michigan. He and his wife Carroll invited us to their home, Yankee then took us out for a great afternoon of fun and fellowship on the water, treated us like family and we were complete strangers with the exception of a post made here on crappie.com. We have met a good friend thanks to this forum! He gave me a crash course in spider riggin, and though the bite was mighty slow we had fun none the less! He would not entertain the thought of compensation, hopefully I can return the favor he made our vacation that much more enjoyable! Thanks again Yankee, you made our day! And I hope to return this fall for your Crappie Camp!

Your waaay to generous with the praise David. I have been treated with the same hospitality by many of our members. It's a great site and a tight family. Thanks to you and Hunter for taking time out of your vacation to spend some time on the water with me. Like I said in the boat, since I'm not a professional guide I won't apologize for the lack of fish. We'll get 'em the next time, right?!

Thumbs up My side of the story...

I thought I probably should add a few pics from our outing as well. I have to say, it was kinda nice hanging out on the back of the boat letting someone else do the driving for a change.

David and Hunter learning how to spider rig off the front. We had a "flotilla" of ducks that kept us company in one of the bayous we fished.

After we spent plenty of time trying to entice the fish rigging, we started working docks. All said and done, we didn't load the box with fish, but we didn't get skunked either. What we did do, was share a great evening on the water and get to know each other. David and Hunter are some typical C.com great folk, and I look forward to more fishing with them in the future!
