Thread: Hard Pond

Weather was nice so no need. For the shanty. Ice was clean so i pulled the little one next to the hole while she sat in my sled. We caught a bunch of gills and one tiny crappie. I was targeting fish for her otherwise i would have fished them harder. When I go with her, i set a limit of 8 fish each. I think she caught 12 of our self imposed 16 fish limit. I have plenty of freezer fish, these guys are fresh and will be dinner tomorrow. I love when my daughter knows where her food came from and when she takes pride in helping provide a meal.

FYI: a couple of friends perch fished interior Saginaw Bay. There is an unconfirmed report of three going through and not making it at the Bridgeport entrance. Be safe everyone

We rode out to Bolles Harbor launch ramp (south of Monroe) last night. We counted 16 people fishing in their shanty's on 1.5-2.0 inches of ice!!!!!! Gotta be crazy. Had to step over a foot of liquid water along the launch ramp to get out to the ice. They were in about 6' of water in the canal. I didn't see anyone catch anything. My bones are TOO OLD to be wading out of six foot deep water. I'm gonna wait. They are forcasting 40's for the entire coming week for Monroe area so I guess I'll leave the shanty in the barn. Anybody around Whitmore lake? Any ice in that area?

I see on e-bay you can buy mousies, wounder why bait shops don't do that ?

Yes it does not look good for us ice fisherman if this weather does stay warm
