It is not about the equipment you have to use,
It is about how you use the equipment you have. :D

Very nice Frank, how deep was the eye you caught ?

I also had lots of action this weekend, I broke out my ice fishing rod this weekend and had fun sitting over schools of crappie, this is one of my favorite fall fishing techniques

8 fow Jim. Definitely was not expecting that fish. What a great surprise as I am not a walleye fisherman. In fact it was the largest I have caught. I caught a 25 incher a few years ago but it was super skinny. Yesterdays eye was real chunky. Also lost another smallie much larger than the one I landed and had a 40+ inch musky blow up on one of my gills just as I was about to land it. Had to go to shore and check my drawers after that one.

Always fun to see a big fish boil at one of the fish you are fighting! I caught a large mouth (by accident) a few years ago while fishing gills on their beds. He swipped at two other fish I was fighting before he finally engulfed the third one. It was the biggest large mouth I had ever caught.

FYI: I always end up two fish short. I loose track of counting the fish and then worry that I am gonna have too many. I need to keep a hand held clicker by my live well as they are hard to count when they are swimming in there. Besides, when you are catching that many fish, the last thing you want to do is worry about counting!

Funny, the same thing happened to me Sunday ... bought some of those Charlie Brewer Weedless Sliders and thought I'd try shooting some docks with them ... very first cast I caught a 17" walleye, then a few casts later, a 14" ... no crappie though ... did like how the CB's fished though.
... for those about to fish, we salute you.
