    Cool Led lights

My question is to those who have installed led lights on your boats. I have 8 ft strips installed under the rub rail in alum channel and I have them fused with 15 amp fuses. They keep blowing fuses. Do the led lights need to be fused and if so what size fuse. These were bought off eBay and they have no instructions. Thanks Don

Sounds like something is wrong. A 15 amp fuse will carry enough current to light up a Walmart with LED's. Must be a short somewhere.

I'm installing LEDs on my boat now. If you don't know what lights you have it will be hard to tell the true amp draw there are so many different specs. My lights pull .4 Amp per foot at 12 volts. Check your wiring and make sure you don't have a bad connection or short. If I understand correctly LEDs are polarity sencetive so be careful.
