Restoring this old trailer because it fits my boat better - have these brackets on both sides. Have no idea what they are. They are familiar, like I should know what the heck they are but I just cant put my finger on it. Im sure Ill feel stupid when somebody gives me the answer.
Thanks

I think its a whatchimacallit and you probably wont need it. But then again you might, so you could either leave it or remove it.
But if you remove it, it might pay to keep it just in case you ever need it.
That has been puzzling me since early this morning. I remember them being on old trailers and it keeps coming to my mind they had a steel or galvanized rod stuck in them at times but I can't for the life of me remember what for. Maybe a guide on or something. Maybe my some timers will kick in and I will remember.
I sorta thought for a side marker but why the big bolts to hold it on. If its towards the front of the trailer it may at one time held a spare tire and a few parts are missing.

I'd say it's a mount for a marker light. There's also a ground wire hanging below it.

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
