"Air leak in the fuel line?"quote brettw more than likely, or valves gone bad in bulb. I'd replace the whole line and bulb.

Motor is always very hard to start, but once running, it's great,
Until I stop for 10 minutes, then it's got no gas and the prime ball is soft.
Air leak in the fuel line?
carbs draining for some reason?
new plugs,
oil,
carbs seem ok but may be dirty, runs well once going
thanks

Brett, mine did that and I replaced the bulb with a new Mercury bulb. Also like WB said check for air leak. Pump bulb up real hard and check for any spots where fuel could be leaking out. Especially around the connection at the motor.

Pumped it up like mad, no leaks, studied rubber washer, in tact,
got it mounted vertically now, will see what happens
