Are you pumping it up until bulb gets hard before cranking? Or is it just pumping and not getting hard? First I would pull motor cover and check close for any fuel leaks. Any where it is damp could be a place for air leak.

I have a 75 hp merc. that for the past few trips I'm having trouble getting it to crank. It is not getting gas to the motor but once I keep pushing the primer bulb it gets gas to the motor and finally will run. I have replaced the primer bulb and still the same problem. After I get the motor running the 1st time it will fire up all day without having to pump the primer bulb. Any tips would be great.

Something else, had this happen to me on my Yammy. It won't start if the motor is tilted up to much. Have to get it pretty level to get it started first time.

You might check the enrichner too and make sure it is working properly. Just because it clicks does not mean its working.
Will do Bill. Thank you

Have you checked the filters and their connections? Mine had the plastic clamp type, kinda resembling a tie wrap that click together one way. As the line aged the clamps relaxed or the hose shrunk and I had to put real clamps on, problem solved.

check the fuel filter/screen in the gas line as well, it may be clogged with debris and junk, some are replaceable and some are just screens that you can clean.

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.crappie4me2 LIKED above post
Thanks guys, I think we have found the issue in the gas line that runs from the tank to the primer bulb. It has cracks in it and is leaking. Glad it is that and not the fuel pump
