    Default Etec warranty

So my lower unit goes out on my 2014 115 with less than 50 hours. Service guy sees a couple tiny dings I'm talking tiny... And says impact damage warranty won't cover it. And the thing is I didn't hit anything?! Anybody ever heard of much lower trouble with the etecs? Looks like their warranty may be a joke

Quit talking to the service tech and call the customer service at the main company, he get paid more by you than he does by the company. If that don't work file it on your insurance if you have any, good luck.

Yeah I have insurance Rees thanks. Thing is I've never seen a stainless prop without a nick in it. I've tore lower units out of a few motors and if using it like I have this spring breaks em I need a diff motor!

Buddy's 40 getting replaced soon. Something about gears they were using changing to a different type to alleviate that problem. Go to e-tec's owners group forums and ask around and they're probably gonna replace it but you have to have the information to throw in their face first.

If you hear only what you want to hear....well then.

E-tec's are awesome outboards. For the original poster call BRP direct or take it to a different service dealer.

I had a problem with 60Hp E-Teck until I called Customer Service. After talking to them and explaining the problem.......everything was resolved. I explained I did what I was suppose to do....I purchased an Evenrude....I expected them to honor their warrenty........and they did.
