Hey guys. I just bought this boat about 3 weeks ago. 1989 Winner 1600 Tournament. 1993 Yamaha 90 HP Outboard. I've had this problem twice now, both times I've taken it out. It seems to be intermittent.

The power tilt quits working both at the console and on the switch on the motor itself. When it does this it will not turn over and try to start either. My dash battery gauge reads 12 Volts & all other electronics function properly. Both times after I've let it sit a little bit it seems to work again. Well today has been really bad. It wouldn't start for me to get it out of the water. I managed it with the winch and a rope though. I located the slot screen on the right side to release and lift it myself manually, but it was so stripped out I couldn't and turn it. Then magically the tilt went all the way up from the button on the motor. Went to grab the transom saver, not working again. Get it home, seems like it will come down, grab transom saver and not working again.... I'm assuming its a short or something like that somewhere based on how it's acting, but this is my first boat so I have no idea if I'm right or not. Going to take it into a shop Tuesday when it opens.

Just curious if anyone has any ideas what it could be.
