    Default attwood tsunami pump question

Ok, Here's the scenario, I currently have 2 500 gph pumps on my boat. Both of which are bad. I want to upgrade to 800 gph pumps. So here's the question, Do I have to change the whole pump housing and all, or can I just buy the pump replacement that is 800 gph and will it fit in the 500 gph housing? They both have 3/4 ports so does anybody have some knowledge in this department? Thanks in advance, superfly.

No direct experience but I would think not. The 800 should have a larger motor and larger impeller housing. I don't think the 800 cartridge would interchange. Impeller size and housing size is going to dictate to a large degree the capacity of the pump.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I was hoping for the best. The motor replacement is a little cheaper than the whole thing. Not to mention it would be much easier to use the motors and not have to undo all the hoses and replace the housing parts too. Bummer, thanks superfly.
