Ok! Just curious for opinions from everyone. What are the advantages/disadvantages of Glass compared to Aluminum? Obviously I know the Glass boats are more $$$$.
Also when looking at Glass Boats what about Bass Cat versus Ranger? It seems Ranger is part of a Big Corporation now, and they make at least 3 different brand boats at the Ranger plant. I am going to tour the plants later this month just curious for some feedback from previous owners or if you have known owners of either boat.

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.
Pick up the phone tomorrow and call both company's offices and see which one is most willing to help you and spend time with you. Be willing to bet it will be Bass Cat. Actually left a message with Rick Peirce, owner of BC, and HE returned my call.
Take a ride in both, both are great rides but BC excells in customer service.

RG, I can already tell a difference from the way they have responded to my emails. I have just heard such Great things about Ranger for so many years. I am sure they make a Good Boat, but I am not sure that they are still the best, especially in customer service.
I will soon make the visit to a few dealers. I am sure the plant tours will speak volumes as well. I just want to make a good decision, maybe there is no wrong decision?
Either one is a Good chunk of change, so I am trying to do my homework.

Dan, I bought a used one back in June and they have helped me with several things. Can't take anything away from the Ranger but BC gets my vote. Good luck, look forward to seeing pics of your new rig whichever way you go.

RG,
I value your opinion. I have a good tin boat now, but wanting to upgrade. I have been trying to fight off the urge, but it is like my Grand Dad used to say: "Having the Bound To's is worse than the Can't Help It's"
I'd Love to see a pic of your Cat.
Anyone else with opinions bring it on!

Another vote here for the Bass Cat! I bought my Pantera 2 almost 2 years ago. Due to budget, I was limited to a used one. I got a 95 model with 200HP Mercury engine. Since this is a very well built boat to begin with, just as I expected, I haven't had the first problem! I was able to purchase the rig and have enough left over to add new electronics (Lowrance LDS-7's with side scan and down image). I have changed out livewell pumps and added a windshield. With every question I have had, Bass Cat was always a phone call away with helpful advice and the parts I needed in stock. One thing I will add about Bass Cat..........If you own a Bass Cat, whether it's a brand new one or a brand new to you one, Bass Cat truly lets you know they appreciate your business.
If you have interest in a Bass Cat, check out their user's/owner's forum at BassCat - Total Performance Bass Boats Ask any question you want and your likely to get an answer from Rick Pierce (the owner) himself. You just don't find customer service like Bass Cat's anymore.
Also, on their website, there is a "for sale" so you can take a look at Bass Cats on the market with pictures and descriptions of various models.
I hope this will help in your search. Good luck and let us know what you decide to do.
Mike
