    Default Motor Problem

When the primer bulb is pumped the gas flows directly out of the carb as if it were flooding so what could be the problem and of course the motor will not start because of this...

It may leaking by your needle and seat in your carb or your float is stuck in the down position.....or maybe your float has a hole in it and has sunk.

Some people spray carb cleaner in the throat of the carb and say they cleaned it. Well they did clean the throat but that does absolutely nothing to clean the internal workings of a carb.

Take it back and have them make it right and start looking for a better mechanic.

our 89' 100hp merc just done the same thing friday evening. all 4 carbs were pouring out fuel while i was priming the bulb. it was last started and ran a month ago. i cleaned and rebuilt the carbs about 6 months ago. its been ran at least twice a month for the past 6 months. i had to pull all 4 carb drain plugs and force fuel thur the carbs (trying to wash out any dirt/debris). i know its very unlikely all 4 had dirt/debris. i put the drain plugs back in and it was fine. i can't believe all 4 floats would stick like that, but they did. it did set for the last month with the motor totor in place. i'm gonna start removing the motor totor when its parked. i'm sure glad i checked it out friday, because that would have ruined a good day fishin saturday. good luck, rick
