    Default Console paint

I have a 79 aluminum bass tracker and it needs new paint on the console and the front/sides of the two seats and live well in the center of the boat. How do I do this? I would like to do it myself if possible. Can I remove the console and seat? If so how and what paint do I use? If not do I simply cover everything and paint it as best I can in the boat?

I just think it would be easier if I could remove them

    Thanks

I would just cover everything and do it in the boat, since you may have to deal with disconnecting all your electricals, rivet removal, steering cable, etc.
The biggest problem you will have is making sure the aluminum is clean (I use a rag with acetone), and using a primer that bonds to aluminum. It needs to be self-etching primer. I would get the paint and primer from an auto paint store and make sure you mention that it will be going on an aluminum boat so that they will give you the right stuff. I like automotive catalyzed paint because it is much harder and therefore more difficult to scratch. If you don't have a compressor and spray gun, they can give you an aerosol sprayer fairly cheaply that has a jar which attaches that you can put your paint/hardener mix in. You can also get some tape and paper there to cover up the rest of the boat.
    Just my opinion,
