White smoke excessive @low rpm,slobbers black oil from cowling,black oil@ pump output...............or..................whos the johnson mechanic around st louis/loz area notworried about rates just want a reliable mechanic not a parts replacer

is it a 2 stroke or 4 stroke? if it's a 2 stroke and has a primer solenoid with a little red pointer on the side, turn the pointer to line up with the body(top to bottom) I see this quite often it is a manual primer also incase you have to rope start a dead battery and it the pionter is turned side ways it is allowing gas to pour into the motor and will run like crap. 4 stroke.......could be almost anything

thanks ,i just put her in the barn.i do remember seeing that pointer ,will ck in am,sure hope your right ive been sick about her.ill let ya know
