Prop torque

16' boat, 25 hp motor. Pulls to the right real hard. Have already turned the trim tab to the right, when looking at the back of the boat. Are there any torque tabs that really work? Would a 4 blade compprop help? Would a doel-phin help? No problem getting on plane. Thanks in advance for any help.

Try trimming the motor out a little. Is the problem worse when you hit it or while you are on plane?

try turnning the trim tab to the left.

If I am reading your post correctly you are turning the trim tab in the wrong direction. Learn to use the terms port and starboard then there is never any question about how you are looking at the boat. Since it is pulling to starboard adjust the trailing end of the trim tab to starboard. It usually only takes a little bit. Maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch. If you are sure all that is good check the motor installation. Is it mounted vertical and in the middle of the transom? Is the anti-cavitation plate even with the bottom of the boat? And like mentioned try different trim positions.

catfan, I will try trimming the motor. It is worse while on plane. How will that help?

barnaclebill, sorry for the confusion, pulling starboard, have adjusted all ways at different times. I will check some measurements also. What does the PTC in front of USN stand for? My sister retired last year from navy, dad did a tour in nam w/ air force, i did four year w/army.

is this a tiller stering or a stick . unbalanced load could be the probablem .usealey torque probablem in on take off . had a 50 hp on a bomber 15 ft . had to let off of the throdle on take off to turn left and on plane ran streight with the trim tab turned all the way . a dolphin fin may help and you can git trim tabs for it to add mor trim to it .

Man do like Barnacle Bill said and turn the trim tab to the left looking at the back of the boat and it will not pull to the right.

Sounds to me like the motor isnt centered. If the motor is mounted with clamps mark where it currently is and slide the motor over just a tad and try it again.

My thought also. Measure the center of the bottom of the transom and make sure the center of the motor is aligned. Let us know what you find.
