Going to buy a SS prop here shortly....For a Mercury 75hp OptiMax on 2 Crestliner CX17....The aluminum prop(s) hve done great (13 1/4 x 17P)...but the lake I fish the most is a prop eater..(Lake Conway)...so it seems like I break'em contstantly...So my question is...Is there a difference in the different brands out there? MIchgan Wheel, Solas...etc...??? I'm really just looking for good solid overall performance at bets price...

If you hit something hard enough to break the lower unit it isn't going to matter what type prop you have on it. That's why they put replaceable hubs in outboard props.

I have to agree with brsmb on this one. That is exactly what my Yamaha dealer told me when I wanted to go to a ss prop.
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.
Alot of the difference in cost is marketing, The hubs will absorb the shock so don't worry about the lu. Check out turbo props also for pricing. Also trim UP. I hope you have been hitting the way point button when you have smacked the stumps
