Trailer
Looking for some opinions here. I have an older aluminum 16ft. V-hull boat. For some reason the fella that had it before me "re-worked" all of the rollers and bunk boards on the trailer
It has two bunk boards on the back which are 2x6's stood on end with carpet about two foot long total. It also has three small 3-5" keel rollers that the middle of the boat sit in while on the trailer. Obviously this is not even close to a drive on trailer now but since I fish a lot by myself I want to make it one. Here's my thoughts: Take the upright 2x6's off and make a bracket that will allow for a 6ft or so 2x6 for the boat to sit on and remove the small keel rollers and replace them all with what I call K rollers about 12" wide. I have measured for all of this and it will fit just wondering if this will help me out any. Presently I have to use the trolling motor on the front of the boat and get myself close enough to step out of the boat onto the trailer and walk the boat up on those rollers to get it lined up just right to load. Pretty slick sometimes being underwater like that and not the ideal situation. What do you guys think about my ideas??
