gator mount problem

Im hoping that someone has had this problem before so i dont have to fiddle with my mount for an hour or more trying to fix it.
the problem is the only way to pull my trolling motor out of the water is the stand on the mount near the TM with all my weight and pull the cord at the same time, then it will come up. if i dont stand on it the string will not pull the pins enabling the motor to come out of the water

hopefully someone has had this problem before and there is a quick fix for it. i really dont know much of anything about the gator mount system.

Usually that's a result of twisting of the mount caused by uneven tightening of the mounting bolts or the mounting surface not being flat. If you loosen all the bolts a little, it should work. You may have to shim it to get it tight and square.
