    Default Too many volts?

While runing the boat over the weekend I noticed the voltage gauge was around 18. Can the voltage regulator be causing this to read high if it is going bad or is bad?

It can if you have one. All outboards don't have a regulator. Exactly what motor do you have?

1996 135 mercury. I think mine may have two since the only 135 in that year apears to be a 40 amp.
