I've got a 150hp 4 stroke on my Crestliner and after owning Mercs and Evinrudes would never go back. On its third year now and have had dealer change fluids every spring and thats it. You'll be happy with it.

The coldest weather it sees is our early Canada trip in May. Had snow last year with temps in 30's and 40's most of the week. Had to bump the idle up a startup to get it running is all.

IMHO Honda makes the longest lasting engine, boats, motorcycles, ATV's, lawnmower, etc, etc. PERIOD. Others will dis-agree, but hey, thats OK too.

If I could afford a new 115 hp there would be one behind my boat right now.

I just returned from a weeks fishing on lake of the woods in Canada. At the lodge all the motors were either Merc or Yamaha. I asked the owner if he had tried Honda, and he told me that he had tried some 3 years ago, and would never have another one. I asked why, and he said that when you hit an object with the motor, the bolts that hold the flywheel shear.
This happened to 2 of his motors, and the flywheel came loose from the engine, resulting in more damage to cowl, engine, ect. On a Merc or Yamaha, you lose the lower unit, but no damage to the engine, flywheel, ect. This was important, because lodge boats are subject to abuse, and a lot of people that go to the lake end up hitting rocks, deadheads, ect. His final comment was, Honda builds great cars, generators, and lawnmowers, but they don't know sh** about boat motors.
